Per Erik Hagen puts away the uniform to become the HR manager in Nordlaks
Nordlaks has hired Per Erik Hagen (48) in the position of HR manager. Per Erik currently works as a police inspector in Nordland police district, where he is operations unit manager for Lofoten and Vesterålen. Per Erik will start in Nordlaks after the summer.
Per Erik Hagen is from Hadsel and lives in Stokmarknes with his wife and two children. He has throughout his career worked in the police force in various leadership positions. Even though Per Erik is from Hadsel and therefore familiar with Nordlaks from the outside, the leap over to the private business community was still great after more than 20 years as head of the police.
- I have had a very nice time in the police department together with highly experienced and dedicated employees. The feeling of unity, culture and identity one connects to the job in the police runs deep. This has been a part of me for over 20 years, and is not something you let go of easily. But the timing for a shift is good for me. It was an incredibly exciting and rare opportunity that appeared in Nordlaks. I went a few rounds with myself where I decided that I should challenge myself and dare to do something new. When Nordlaks offered me the position, it was right for me. If I ever had to let go of the uniform - it was now, says Per Erik Hagen.
Per Erik has his education from the Police Academy, where in addition to the police education he has further education in management and organizational development. He also has a master's degree (MBA) in economics and management from Nord University.
- Nordlaks is a significant player in the local community, and I have seen the development and growth that the company has had. It impresses, and it motivates me to be a part of this. I have no experience from the seafood industry. But professionals are professionals, and Nordlaks has enough people who know aquaculture. My role as HR manager will be to have a spotlight on some of the same things that we have worked on in the police; such as organizational development, personnel management and leadership development. Now I am really looking forward to getting in place, to getting to know the people in Nordlaks and finding out how the organization is screwed together and how things are. It will be priority number one, and then we will together find ways to develop, Hagen concludes.
Nordlaks had over 500 permanent employees at the end of last year. There are 122 more permanent employees compared to 2018. Including temporary staff, commitments, apprentices and hired workers, there were over 700 employees in the company during last year.
- Nordlaks has grown rapidly in recent years and has become a major employer. How we take care of and develop the human resources and organization in Nordlaks is one of the most important things for us in order to be competitive and development-oriented also in the future. I am very happy and proud that it is exactly Per Erik we get to lead this work. Now we are very much looking forward to receiving him and giving him a good start in Nordlaks, says CFO Bernt Ola Nilsen in Nordlaks.
Per Erik Hagen will be head of the personnel department at Nordlaks and will report to CFO Bernt Ola Nilsen.
